SKIPPING POLICY

Students who are deemed to be “skipping ” will be sent home for the remainder of the day with a call to parents, on the first offense.  The second offense will require a one day out of school suspension.  Third offense will be a 3-day out of school suspension.   Fourth offense will be a five-day out of school suspension after which a student contract will be signed.  If the contract is broken the student may be referred to Peace Wapiti School Board’s Universal Outreach Program.  For junior high students the policy will change to in school suspensions.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

The drinking or possession of intoxicating beverages or illegal use of drugs in the school building or on school grounds is prohibited at all times. This regulation applies to all students involved in extra-curricular activities for the duration of the activity whether on school premises or not. Transportation to and from an activity is deemed part of the activity.

Violation of this rule will result in the student being suspended from school and the possible recommendation to the school board for expulsion.

STUDENT REGULATION

Every pupil registered in school shall be required to attend school regularly and punctually, be clean and tidy in person and clothes, be diligent in studies, kind and courteous to classmates, and obedient and respectful to teachers.

Because of the problem created by gum being thrown on the floor, stuck to desks, etc...., as well as the fact that gum chewing is not acceptable to some, gum chewing in the school shall be discouraged at all times.

Students are asked to show reasonable care of lawns, shrubs, equipment and buildings, and to use the trash containers so that there is no littering on lawns, sidewalks, hallways, lunchrooms and classrooms. Learning is much more pleasant in tidy surroundings. Students abusing the premises will be excluded.
