Literacy at Woking School

Since reading and writing form the foundation for all other learning, the staff of Woking School has chosen to focus on literacy in all subjects and activities, developing programs which support the growth of these skills.  As part of the initiative, we have implemented a Home Reading Program, where students are encouraged to read for at least 15 minutes each night.  We are also working on the teaching strategy called Reciprocal Teaching, which gives students comprehension strategies and can be used in any subject and with any material.
